Laid in place, little early for a final fit? I doubt it will ever be perfect.

It can be. I had to remove the big bar across the nose, all 4 headlight attaching brackets, bottom panel of the upper nose, lower chin bar below grill and pass side parking light panel to realign the front of the 64. All from minor damage at the parking light. You’ll see when complete

Default Stripping Doors

Original doors originally looked pretty good. We noticed the drivers door handle was loose. The fiberglass base/raised mount was shattered and repaired with bondo. We located a 63/64 Convertible replacement door and it was perfect.

Default Perfect is a relative term.

The drivers door mirror base screws were broke below the door skin. I tried to drill them and use a spiral screw extractor. This hardly ever works but I seem to try every time. I decided to drill them out and glue in a nut insert. The back of the original mount has a welded nut so it was too thick to use a insert tool.

Default Milestone Dates 3-21-18 NY to VA. 5-29-19 VA to PA.

We brought it back in March 2018 from Webster NY in a Blizzard (High of 32 and a low of 30 with Snow.) to Richmond Virginia. Next week May 29th the body and frame are traveling to Philadelphia with a forecast of 96 degrees and Sunny.
We are a long way from throwing tags on a rat rod Corvette and having fun. Due to the frame issues, it forced us in a different direction. If 65 Pro Vette can get the body presentable, we should have a painted body sometime this year.
I hope we can have the chassis and drive train and body back together by the spring of 2020,

Hookers, No Food, Deep Snow, $40 Hotel Room. It all added up to a memorable trip.

"Hookers, No Food, Deep Snow, $40 Hotel Room. It all added up to a memorable trip."

Allow me to clarify --- No Hookers in our room - or at least, my brother failed to wake me up if "she" walked in our room at 1 in the morning and had a party.

LOL, highly doubtful. We were tired from driving and not interested in anything that didn't pertain to restaurant food or my required Starbucks coffee stops.

I do love the photo above of Miss Eva, the '60 Bugeye. She looks very pleased with her stablemate's progress!!

Great time. Looking forward to going to PA with Holt and dropping off the fiberglass roadster for upcoming minor surgery..!!

I dunno; your 'C2 qualifies - it's your "sinful" money hole, so yeah - hooker - in a sense. That being your mistress that takes up your spare change and time.

When he said Hookers I’m sure he was talking about the header company. What happens on car retrieval trips stays on car retrieval trips.

Default Deck Lid

Now the hood is my last major piece to be stripped. The rest of the pieces are at a point where it will be easy work. Thanks to Dub for encouraging me to do a chemical strip.

Doors and Valance Panel were inside the Truck Shell.

Over the last year I am about a 100% better in my knowledge on C2's; however, when you talk to an expert you realize in a few minutes how little you really know. It is especially great when it comes from someone who really wants to share that knowledge and is not preaching just to show how little you know.

I have never seen another Corvette that Plain Jane, but it was original motor (and I assume original trans).

Congrats on your new toy. Enjoy, and keep us posted.

In small town dealerships low option Corvettes for stock were quite common. An associate purchased a 64 365 hp, 3 speed, radio, convertible top only. We demoed a 72 convertible, base engine 4 speed , radio . Ended up with an SS Nova.

Default 1970 Dodge Challenger T/A

1970 Dodge Challenger T/A will be a new guest.

We literally pulled/towed this out for Cars and Coffee for today. It has been in a shipping container for a year. Starter Fluid- gas down the carbs- all six barrels. Jump box add cables from the F150 - fire and it started. 30 mile drive, we arrived and it rained. Game over as everyone left.

Original Paint Motor was rebuilt.
