Hey Guys, Getting wacked here. While in the midst of the headlight switch repair, detailing the motorless 64 engine bay before motor is rebuilt, and a bad miss in the 85, I contract pneumonia. That put me out of action for 2 weeks. As recuperating I now develop an umbilical hernia requiring an operation. Plus I'm in a one man business and need work time catch up.
I may never get the switch resolved. I appreciate all your previous input. I'll be back at some point.
Its a hobby, not life or death.....that switch and ALL the rest of that classic car stuff will be patiently waiting when you recuperate and catch up on work...
Hi Buns,
Been awhile but health and other issues interrupted progress. I'm able to jump car's connector contacts and buckets roll over both ways. With switch removed I have continuity from corner common post to outer posts when switch depressed either way. Also I'm able to connect switch but pull it apart about .060" and jump posts by inserting a .045 wire" and buckets roll. Therefore I'm concluding it's an internal switch problem. I'm trying to disassemble switch as you show. However, unable to pull back plate off. No movement seen when pressing through holes. Your instructions imply the clips and back plate both come off as an assembly but I don't see the clips in your removed back plate photo. HELP!!!!!!!!
