my 64 FI roadster was missing interior parts and I have no cars here to look at,,
there is a storage area behind the seats.. I assume a cardboard cover is placed over it, is the cover bezel ed or just carpeted?
I assume the jack is placed in there.. any pictures showing how it looks in there?? all items that are supposed to be there..
under the cover.. dead center there is the tunnel in the center. Mine has a hole that probably had a small cover allowing access to the u joint. Is this normal? I see photos of c2's that have no access hole. if there is a cover I need one, maybe someone has a link and if it should be closed I will glass over the hole. thanks for your help
t there is a Masonite wood board the carpet gets glued too with a finger hole with a chrome bezel. behind the drivers seat is the jack and lug wrench and if your car was ordered with knock off wheels there was a lead hammer. on the underside of the board was a jacking instruction decal and if car has a posi rear a warning label for that.
no the hole and cover should not be there. I believe in the GM service manual it states to drill holes in there for rear end removal
that was helpful,, thank you, I read about that hole and think I may fashion a cover for it. Its a period modification recommended by GM so I feel comfortable with it. I hope whoever took that differential out repaired it .. I will listen for a whine, I may have to go in there.
This repair is common enough that the panel suppliers offer just this section to graft in. I was lucky enough to find a salvaged floor section at a reasonable price.
