When I bought my 63; I flew to Seattle and drove it back to Denver.
Averaged a consistent 15 MPG, except for 1 stretch in Wyoming when I ran out of gas, on a hill near an exit ramp, was able to coast to within ¼ mile of a gas station. That is quite a trick in Wyoming.
Now if I could only get them to turn off! Had to pull the plug on the motor to stop them. Idle park works sometimes, need to clean the contacts.

HAHA! I had to do the same thing. My wiper cable would not disengage the wipers.
The thunderstorm (scattered showers) had stopped about a mile before the next off ramp. I could not get the wiper cable to disengage the motor so I pulled over, opened the hood and pulled on the switch. Problem solved keep driving home.

Yep, happened to me nd took a bit to figure out. Need to get the motor fixed because I plan on driving it allot more.
My wipers work great in my 65. Oh yah I installed the seven speed wiper system from Detroit Speed. One of the best mods if you actually drive your car.

Yeah, mine is just the cable getting kinked somewhere I probably need to add some oil into the cable to get it to turn smoothly. Still cool to see these cars driven.

I have raced in REALLY bad rain and (since my wipers don't work that well) I just use Rain-X on both inside and outside, and leave my windows open (no water intrudes). My point is that I had better outward visibility than yours (by the pictures you posted).
I just got this over the weekend. Haven’t tried it yet. I’ve always liked Invisible Glass and RainX. If this product works, it will turn a 2-step process into a 1-step process. The ingredients read the same as a normal bottle of Invisible Glass - water, hydrocarbon blend”. But the regular stuff has cautions about getting it on electrical parts. The combo stuff doesn’t have that caution.
My wipers have always worked, but after 4/17, driving in the rain is immensely better. New weathers strip, third latch (I get a drop or two now and then) and RainX. Dennis
Mine work well but I do my best to avoid using them! We do use the car for long trips though so we've been caught in some pretty nasty weather...Usually about as much H2O in the car as out!!
