Default 1960 speedometer cable help

Nothing is ever easy! My speedometer cable is noisy, and damaged so I want to replace it (lubing did not help). 1960 with a 67 Muncie m21 1961 speedometer. When searching the net I find all different lengths from 62" to 68" steel and plastic housings, all claiming to fit. I have not removed mine yet so I don't know the length. It is turned very tightly at the tunnel to go straight into the side of the trans tail housing, which looks problematic. I have heard of the 90 degree adapters to resolve this but it seems tight in the shift linkage, is that viable? Who knows what combination and who's products fit the bill? What is the best solution? I know you guys have been through this and I hope I don't start a big argument LOL.

Please advise.

My 57 didn't have any clearance problems where it goes into the transmission although it would be tight to get your hand up in there with the tunnel being so close . I had the tunnel cover out when I installed mine . It was easy .
