I am looking for a good replacement switch for my 1963. Is this year specific? I pulled mine out last night as it was not working and pulled it apart to clean, well after the pieces spilled out on the bench, I figured I need a new switch.

Are you talking about the headlight light switch or the headlight motor switch? The headlight light switch, if original, is 63 only “095” numbered switch distinguished by a fan like metal wafer on the front rheostat. If so, gather the parts and reassemble the switch. I have a thread here on how I did it. There are no correct repros. And many of the incorrect repros have weak thermal breaker cutouts that will cause your headlights to "strobe"; particularly on high beams.
If it’s the headlight motor switch then the repros suck. The word “HEADLIGHT” on the switch looks like Ray Charles made it with his feet. Clean and reassemble your original.

I refurbished the headlight switch on my '61 in less than an hour. Basically a cleaning and lubing job. These are solid, well made, and serviceable parts. The newly made off-shore repros? Not so much. Used original parts beat new reproduction parts just about every time.

Thanks

There are a bunch on EBAY used but this one is the best. A little pricey though.
I got the NOS switch. My **** would not pop into place. Sent it back and they guy is on vacation or something, so waiting to hear back. Seems like he is reasonable for the correction.

There is a trick to getting the **** shaft to “catch” on some switches.
