Default Wilcox or Zip interior parts

I am about to buy carpet and a dash pad. Does Wilcox and Zip use the same supplier for these items? Wilcox has 20% off, this weekend, so could save a few bucks if I'm comparing apples to apples.

Corvette America has good stuff. I was talking to them last week about their carpet and they said it was ACC that no one makes their own. I said what about Al Knoch and he said, no they have ACC. Wrong, AK makes their own carpet, at least that's what the lady there told me. If you get the color RED from Willcox make sure and get a sample piece. I received a piece from CA and it was a nice red color but had black mixed in.

I see you are in Richmond. As I am sure you are aware ZIP is there too. My experience is ZIP will work with you if you find a better deal somewhere else. Nice to have a vendor that close by.

Check out RockAuto for your carpet. I have purchased multiple sets from both RockAuto and the usual Corvette part sellers. RockAuto sells the same ACC carpet at significantly lower prices, even with the weekend discounts. Plus you can find RockAuto discount codes online and their shipping is less.

Good luck.

I normally buy most of my stuff from Zip and I can't say enough good things about them. I had a list of thing I was planning to buy at Carlisle, but also got prices from Zip, I didn't find one item at Carlisle that i couldn't get at a better price at Zip. If I have a problem or need to return an item, Zip will take care of it.
I was just looking at The Wilcox 20% off and had to at least consider it.

i used Zip and Long Island depending on part.... if Zip has been good for ya, call em and ask for matched price.... when i finished my 65, they found an error and gave me a $75 certicate

short version: stick with local and known

Those events that have swap meets attached to them are destine to have a reduced vendor presence due to that. It is expensive for vendor to haul all of their merchandise and help all of those mile along with the travel expense. In my opinion they should just stop and apply all of the cost to special discounts during those actual shows they used to attend. Vendor like Al Knoch that do things like interior and top installs would likely continue as I think it is probably profitable enough for them to continue. The day will likely come that all the swap meets will be good for are old used parts just like it used to be--coming full circle as many things do.

Not sure if Knoch is still making their carpet, I thought they used to buy from Johns. Anyways a 62 will have black mixed into the color if you are using the correct Tuxedo carpet, that is they way they were originally.

All I can go by is what the vendors tell me and Mellissa at AK just last week say they make their own carpet. The sample I got from CA is supposed to be for a 63. Would try ZIP but have been banned there.

There aren't many manufacturers of the interior parts, so there's a good chance the parts come from the same sources. I mostly buy from Zip and have found their service to be top notch.

Knoch may very easily manufacture the early carpet since it is not molded. We use ACC and they are tuxedo, we offer a non original as well if you do not want tuxedo.

Good luck.
As of right now, I'm leaning to RockAuto due to price and shipping costs for my 65 conv. I've never ordered from them so I don't know how great their service is or not.

Thanks,
Dex.

I used Rock Auto on many parts for my '61 when I was getting it road-worthy. Would use them again in a heartbeat. Very fast, accurate service, quality parts. I would also not hesitate to use Wilcox or Zip. Excellent service and products.

I've used them both and like them both.
