Dave,
Super sanitary rear assembly. Is it my eyes or is the strut arm nut backing out? Also, is it missing the cotter pin that would retain it from doing so?

Thanks for the great picture, I got it figured out now!!!! I live in Hawaii, & the bushings just disappeared. The washer & cup where touching each other.. I was thinking the same thing when I saw that nut..
Thanks again,
Dave

Leif, I wish it was a picture of my rear assembly but it’s not. It’s one from my files...probably stolen from here at one time for reference when I was doing my rear suspension. For sure you’re right about the nut and cotter pin. Good eye for sure!
That picture may have been from a partially completed rebuild - I have plenty where fasteners and bits are not in their final position...
Just a word on safety - that rear spring is under pressure - refer to the manual for safely unbolting and rebolting it after you fix things...
If I'm not mistaken, that picture was posted several years ago by JohnZ (I have it in my library too). It was meant to show '67 BB rear suspension hardware and it was noted the wheel was off the ground and final torquing not completed.
After changing my bushings, the bottom of the bolt looks like it is angled towards the rear of the car, not straight up & down... Is that normal til you get the car on the ground??

Thanks Dave
They should settle in and straighten up with the weight of the car and a short drive.
