Frame and birdcage most important to. Look for rust. Numbers matching if that matters to you.

If you're not knowledgeable on C2s, then I would try and find someone who is and bring them with you.

Given the all the unique, 63-only parts, I would make sure they're all there. Replacement with correct parts would run into the 1000's.

That of course is beyond the usual items such as:
Bird cage rust
Engine/VIN match
Trim tag date matches Serial build date.
Flared wheel wells - expensive to fix right

A few high dollar parts:
Seats
Glovebox door
Shifter
Steering Wheel
Correct Wheel Rims
Correct hardtop if so equipped
Fiberglass headlight buckets
Correct seat belts if that matters to you

I've seen lots of '63s stripped of these parts and then sold off with cheap replacements.

Hopefully, you've spent the last month or so cramming every night and are not just going to look at the car on a whim. The '63 Sting Ray is one of the most difficult Sting Ray's to evaluate, especially if one is not a scholar on the subject. Seriously. If it is a 30-50k driver quality non #'s car, not as much of an issue.

If you added some location info to your profile (assuming the car is local to you) you might get help from someone nearby...

Check numbers even it doesn't matter to you at all. It affects price.

If you can find someone very familiar with 63,s rather that C2,s in general, you will benefit from his specific 63 knowledge.

I did a almost a year researching what to look for. Had an experienced C2 guy do the standard pre-inspection. And did an extensive inspection underneath while an expert restorer was on the phone with me. Looked like what you’d expect from an unrestored 50 YO car at the price point. What we all missed until we pulled the body for a body restoration was the TOP of the frame back towards the kick up for about a foot was GONE. Just a U channel basically invisible from the bottom (BB car BTW). I would have never trusted anything else on that frame if we had repaired it. You’ll read about the usual rust around the kick up, if I purchase another C2 I’ll have one of those camera wand inspection tools that are so cheap now. Learn the color of ‘63 glass and about the radiused holes in the metal nose reinforcement to determine if it’s been damaged up front.

Anyway, in all my research I never had heard about salt accumulation on top of the frame rail eating down from the top. Enjoy! Even with all my surprises I still had a blast making her safe and mine.

A nice list.
I didn’t see exhaust tip heat shields but I may have missed it.
Also the bumper brackets are thicker in 63; 1/2" vs the later 3/8"
Early cars also had painted (not vinyl covered) dash frame "waterfalls" and "toolbox" depressions under the seats...
