No longer a no-hit car
The sad thing is that hit it myself. Didn’t even know I did it. I found it when I was cleaning the car. Obviously, it happened during a left turn.
So I bought these. I took them over to the shop today. Once they’re on, I need to get a 4-wheel alignment before I take the car in for bodywork. I’m thinking there is too much positive camber on the left since that tire is 1/2” closer to the fender lip than the left side. Make sense?

I should be more bothered by this than I am. I figure it's just the price I pay for actually using the car. If I didn't want stuff like that to happen, I'd park the car and never drive it again. And, I'm really kidding about the no-hit stuff.
The mechanical stuff will be addressed and then on to the body shop. I spent $50 on a glue injector with various sized needles and was going to attempt the repair myself. Then my wife, the voice of reason, said, "If you want it to look like you fixed it yourself, go ahead. If you want it to look like nothing happened to it, take the car somewhere and get a proper fix."

Here are the photos that belong with my original post. Sorry for the screwup. The forum and I are not getting along tonight. And, no, I’m not into the bubbly yet. But I will be soon.

That is not a HIT.............It is just a small self-inflected wound.

That happened ALL the time back in the late 60's. The local Corvette body guru would have had that back to perfect in about a day. And I agree, that's not a "hit".

Trust me - that’s a nit.
Nobody can convince me they have a no-hit car until I see it completely in raw glass.
So, you’re in good company with most of the rest of us.

I know you and Frank would give anything to trade places with me with your car repairs. I know it's not a big deal. You just hate to see it, no matter how minor.

225 are pushing it to the max did the tire rub the fender
Check to see if the stop is on lower frame.
This could of happened. ,without you knowing it .Look behind spring

Those tires were put on the car in July 2012 when I bought the car. Seems like I would have had a problem long before now if the tires are too big. There are no rub marks on the inside of the lip. Could be the planets aligned just right and I hit a bump or pot hole in the middle of a hard left turn.

I feel your pain. But, look at the bright side...it's a white car. The paint blend should be very painless. Just think if you had a Nassau Blue or a Silver Pearl, etc. Glad to hear you're driving her. I agree that if you are, in fact, running 225/70's...you're pushing the safety window. 215/70 are about the safe limit. Have a safe and happy New Year.

With the 225s on my 63 tight hard left turn would touch this the largest tire.
Do you have power steering.
I ran 225s on rear .Just a fluke you could of ran past stop only tell on lift and check it out.
I just blew my engine in my 57 pick up I bought from sell the 63 **** happens 2018 going out with a bang
