Default Lectric Limited ques

Know some of you have used their wiring by posts. Couple questions- Is it a quality product. [got a dozen catalogs that
offer wiring harnesses from different sources.] Do their dash harnesses come with new fuse blocks. [couldn't tell by
their catalog. Also see on the complete wiring upgrades [not sure if i need to go there yet] there is a basic and a delux
version. Is the delux worth the extra bucks. Final ques, would you buy their product again. Thanks Jimbo 64

I used Lectric Limited products when I did my '58. Replaced the front and rear harnesses however reused the main dash and fuse block. They fit well, and from what I could tell, matched existing very well. I will use them again.

Try the competition M&H Electric at http://www.wiringharness.com. They make a superb product that, last time I checked was priced lower than the Corvette catalog vendors.

I have used them for an engine harness, a backup switch & harness, and spring ring cables. Everything was an exact duplicate, fit perfectly, and was in stock. When I called to order, it was at my door 3 business days later.

Jimbo64, you asked, so I'm going to give my 2 cents. The only thing I ever bought from LL, was set of spark plug wires, 67 w/ sst shielding, you've seen them. I absolutely hated them! They looked real pretty, ohmed out O.K., but what I didn't like, was the lack of strenght in the material. Some of the boots tore the very first time I tried to take them off and I don't blame myself for abusing them and they weren't CHEAP!!!!!!! That was six years ago, so maybe their using better compounds now, who knows. After that, LL left me with a neg. attitude. When it came time to buy wire harnesses, I called Pacific Corvette to find out who they used. They buy from M&H Electric Fabricators Inc., out of Calif. 562-926-9552. They like them and and from what I understand, if they build it, they buy from them. The very first harness I bought from M&H when the 7 car was still running, was a TI harness and it fit like a glove and performed very well. If you want to ask more about their workmanship, call Pac. Corvette at 1-800-228-2857 and ask for Bill. I can tell you one thing, for all the years they've been around, they know what works for them and what don't. Anyway Jimbo64, that was probably 3 cents instead of 2 cents, sorry.
I know some of the other guys have used LL, so you'll get their thoughts.
Good luck, Craig ;)
BTW, yes, the under the dash harness by LL, I think comes w/ fuse block, I know my M&H did.

I used LL main and rear harness when I redid the '64. The rear was perfect, but the main (included the block) had a couple of color discrepancies and the loop down to the headlight open/close switch was a bit short, so I had to mount the control upside down to get a fit and even then it was a stretch. All of the bulb sockets were first rate.

Jimbo,

I recently bought an engine harness from LL after a short in the alternator burnt the original. The harness seems to be first rate, the colors of the wires are all correct and all the small details are there. For example the sleeve on the wire that runs to the water temperature sender looked just like the original stuff.

My electronic order was in before seven a.m. on Monday morning and it was delivered by ten a.m. Thursday morning. They offer “free” shipping on internet based orders and hit ya for five dollars in handling fees. One word of caution, I did notice they are not using any sort of secure socket layer service on the order form of their web site so your CC info is basically being sent as plain text over the internet. I took my chances and so far so good!

Had I known how good the new harness was going to look I would have bought the full car set to begin with. I’m not sure about the differences between the basic and the deluxe version but I would buy from them again.

Regarding fuse blocks, M&H's online site says: "All of our 1958-1978 dash harnesses include fuse boxes that are set up to use Buss style (aka Glass type) fuses, as original." They also have harnesses to convert to an alternator with an internal regulator, and similar mods. I've never bought from them, just have their catalog.

I have also purchased parts from LL. A set of T3 headlights and 2 pair of BB shielded spark plug wires. I have to agree with a previous poster in that the boots on the spark plug side are crap. I have also had them tear upon removal and yes I twisted the boot bfore I tried to remove it. It actually tore while twisting. I called LL and explained to them what happened. They sent me 3 replacement boots at no charge.

I got my main harness from LL along with their schematic. Everything fit perfect. All the lights and gauges lit right up and things are still working today. Yes, it included a new fuse block and was already wired to the system.

I had the same excact problem as cmacsvette. And when I called to get a replacement I was told they are not meant to go on and off.I explained if I had been told that in the begining I never would have purchased them.To make a long story short I have not made a purchase from them since.

Hey forum people, thanks as usual for the great inputs concerning my question about lectric limited. Not quite sure what
route i'll go but will check out someother suppliers also. Does sound like they have a problem with ignition wiring if the
boots keep tearing. Again thanks and if anyone else has some experience with any supplier, the inputs are appreciated.

I bought main dash harness from LL and it was a disappointment. Some wires were inch or two too short - I hade to cut the new harness and add some extra wire to get perfect fit. I emailed them about this and they never answered. In my opinion, they were arrogant and this particular product was just lousy. Will never again buy their products. So, if you have any alternatives, you might want to study them first.

Hey Dave,
Now you understand, I'm talking spark plug wires here. I'm not talking about any other wire harnesses from LL as I stated in my first post. The only current carrying materials I've ever bought from them, is spark plug wires. So are you saying you bought spark plug wires from them??????aaaaaaaand?????

Jimbo, no question in my mind. Buy from M&H. When I bought my Spring Ring cables from them, I mentioned to the tech guy that I had some feedback about their backup light switch. We spent 15 minutes discussing it and he said he would bring it up at their next design meeting. They LISTEN!

And, I asked why they didn't advertise as much as, say, LL. He said, 'We get a lot of referral business. If we advertised, we would not be able to handle the demand and I'd be concerned that our quality might suffer.'

Buy M&H. Bye, bye, LL.
