Here's one!!!!!. Just sold at Mecum Kissimmee, at the worst possible time slot that you could get (10:30 am). 110K with premium. Car is 11 years old, with an automatic and C4 suspension. Good grief!!

I bought this car in 2007 for 20K. Built it, and sold it at the NCRS winter regional in Jan 2008. Changed the 6 speed to a 700R4 at the new owners expense. He bought the car for his wife for her birthday. I have had no contact with him since I delivered the car. He passed away about 5 years ago, and apparently the family decided to let the car go.
Corvette Correction chassis with C4 suspension. LS3. 700R4. Stock interior changed to leather. Stock gauges converted. Nothing special. Nice car for the money.
So, for all of you guys still waiting for the sky to fall, and buy a restomod for pennies on the dollar......keep waiting.
Some pictures from my shop, and some of original condition.

I don't know Mike, but I'll say this: to my eyes and taste I like his cars much better than the Kindig cars. Here's why: old build or new, Mike's tweaks are very subtle and well executed, and he always, always, seems to make the right WHEEL CHOICE. He picks wheels , colors, and interiors that harmonize together, and raise the car's quality to jewel-like level---all while leaving the lines of the vehicle intact and undisturbed. No silly Foose Fade or two tone nonsense, no 24" ghetto wheels, No tubbed rear end for a pro-stock in-your-face look. Mike's 'speak softly and carry a big stick' beats 'loud and in your face' every time, IMO. I love the Kindig cars, don't get me wrong (except that I hate his damn door handles), but the cars I've seen that Mike and Not Red Rob build appeal to me (as a car guy) much more.

I would love to have that car for $100K. I guess it's just being in the right place, at the right time. I'm not an auction junkie, but guess I'll have to start paying attention. Looking very forward to the results from the Kissimmee auction as that will be a telling event.

But, but, but - these were supposed to drop to $30K after a decade because nobody wanted all that "old" technology and you can't really drive them anyway ?
I'm so confused...

I was 70K all in, plus my labor. I made 35k. Don't forget, this was 11 years ago. My shop rate was $35/hr, and a brand new LS3 was $5,200. I think the car would have done 125 to 130K in a better time slot, with the 6 speed still in it.

The reason this works is because none of the classic design elements of the car were messed with. It looked good in '62, did 20 years ago when customized, and does so today. Class and beauty never get obsolete. I like the same L-29 Cords and Duesenberg SJ's that I did 45 years ago. They still look just as nice. Still evoke the same feelings. Same with any art, well done, including music. The secret is to be able to execute it so that it will age well and always be relevant. The car pictured above will look just as killer 100 years from now. No need for improvement. That said, I would have kept the red interior!! Nice job as always, Mike.

Your car is going to do WAY better than this one did. Seller dropped the reserve at 80K. This car isn't built to anywhere close to your cars, and it has C4 suspension, and an automatic. I really didn't expect it to sell any higher than it did. 10:30 in the morning, on Friday, at a reserve auction, and 11 years old. Try not to worry. Your car will do WELL.

There are restomods and there are RESTOMODS. There's a lot of variation in quality. Though your car has some older tech, judging from the photos it appears to be far superior in build quality compared to others I've seen. Frankly, I think the buyer here got a good deal.
