So if a mid production car has metal it would be safe to say that they have been changed out. I am trying to see if their is a correlation between when the headlight bezels started being screwed in from the side versus being screwed in from the front. I thought that I read somewhere that the fiberglass buckets had bezels that screwed in from the front and the metal buckets had bezels that screwed in from the sides.
later production 63 Corvette’s had fiberglass buckets with a metal bezel that screwed in from the side. I had an original 63 that was produced the last two weeks of production and they are fiberglass. I also have serial number 20,7xx and they are fiberglass. It is not uncommon to find a Corvette’s all through the year with metal buckets because so many of these cars got hit in the front and where replaced with the newer style buckets.
