Kinda sad to see them die in that manner.. From someone's delight driving them home from the dealer to a tree growing through.. kinda sad.. and parallel with life..

Yeah...'From the Cradle to the Grave', I think they call it. These cars have made it to the grave.

At one point they were just cars....if they got wrecked or broke down and old and maybe the insurance wouldn't cover repairs and
nobody wanted to spend the money they wound up on the "Island of Lost Toys"; its just the way it was..
Wouldn't be surprised to see all those C1s above scooped up in an estate sale by some heir that could care less about them..

If and when you get around to selling small stuff I need some interior trim pieces. Like the molding that wraps around the console, lower molding on the trim around the seats, all cove moldings, fender spears.

Yes but, Corvettes have always been cherished more than any other American car so the survival rate is much higher than any other old muscle car. Where the fool errors is in thinking that so many of them still have as many original hippo engines left in them. They were always loved but beat upon just the same. The cars in this thread are a good example of how people found it hard to give up on an old Corvette and why there are still so many of them around.

("their inheritance" - they can't see the reality that those cars are NOT their property yet, and nothing says they ever HAVE to be? Buncha greed entitled whining demanding ungrateful......)

I realize you are letting the widow call the shots, and that's as it should be. But perhaps you could find a way to tactfully point out the above. Obviously I never met the late owner, but I'd guess he would be happy to see at least some of those come back to life. As for those who think those bodies are their inheritance, perhaps the widow could reassure them that when she goes, the money from the cars already sold will find its way to them.

He left her a nice running 1986 Convertible that she does drive on occasion.
So far the 1953 (#1184, restored to original condition) and the 1958 (into a resto-mod) have been put back on the road. The 63 convertible that she just sold will be on the road in a couple of years.
The husband did sell a 1964 convertible project many years ago to one of the local restorers many years before he passed away.. That car has been restored as a nice driver and is running around the streets of north Alabama as we speak.

Yes, but that is all I am saying about the location. She has already had parts disappear. She has also had three calves rustled. Yes, living baby cows stolen, lured off into the woods nearby, and butchered on the spot.

I know a lot here mouth about EBay. It's my favorite store. You don't have to know anything about the value all you have to know is how to post pics. The world will tell you what it's worth. A 57 Nomad had to be fairly rough to bring $6300. I would gladly give that for a decent shape nomad and I'm not looking for one. Yep there is going to be work envolved but when you ship it you know it's sold and you don't have to deal with all of the lowballers and tire kickers.
I spent a couple of hours getting the wheels unfroze so the car would roll.

Oh well, I guess that's that. They are still her property to do with as she wants, whether we agree or not.

I just went shopping on eBay. I picked up NOS top fender spears and cove moldings. I was trying to get a better price on shipping as I thought one was a little high. But then I looked at what others were asking for the same parts and I bought them. That's what makes buying used trim hard I bought this stuff still in the paper for less than I could buy used and have it polished.

where are the daughter and son in law when these things are happening. Whoever is stealing the calves needs to be shown exactly why they shouldn't be doing things like this.

Yes on the photo of the rear section which is 58. Besides the trunk floor cutouts it should also have the wheel well rear filler panels which on 59-60 no floor cutouts and no filler panels.

AS for the cows disappearing, the widow suspects "undocumented workers - yes that is illegal aliens from directly south of the US Border" that moved into a house across the street from her farm.
Shotgun is ready is she can catch them in the act. Police do not want to be bothered with it.
