Needless to say, I am in sticker shock regarding quotes for plating my C2 bumpers-$3300. That seems to be an exorbitant Corvette tax but I wanted to check with you all. I am interested in a good job but this will not be a Pebble Beach show car. I want a triple plated job unless the consensus is different from your input. I have contacted Ogden Chrome and a local place to this point. I have a lead to a Huntington Beach, CA shop that I will contact today. Any suggestions to a shop and is this cost in the ballpark? Thank you in advance.
There are so many threads on this. You might want to use the search function. Figure $215 - ( real nice driver, virginia vettes) to $600 (best of the best, paul's chrome).

Virginia Vettes does not "triple plate" NO copper. Chrome has a yellow cast. He does nickel/chrome. It's cheap though.
Not that is any help but there used to be a bunch of places in the Bronx that did plating , in the hunts point area, all are long gone, it didn't matter what you brought them, the prices were more the reasonable.

Thank you Ken. I tried the search but my parameters must not have jived with the Forum.
Meclec Chrome in Fresno is excellent. The only issue is that it is superior to factory finish, and can look too rich on a normal driver-car. They are reasonable, too.

Over $800 per corner ? When somebody pitches me a wild-azz number like that it means:
1) They think that once the word "Corvette" is mentioned a 100% price increase is just good business, or,
2) They have so much business they'll only do the job if you pay a nutso price, or,
3) They are so incompetent that they have to factor in their risk of screwing up into the price in case there is a "do over"...
With the price of shipping 4 bumpers to the shop and back plus the price to re-chrome all 4 bumpers you wonder if buying new bumpers might be a better alternative.
Paragon Corvettes of Michigan gets great reviews from Corvette Forum members. You might want to check them out.
I'm just posting to show you where the houston market it is on chroming, but i received different responses from 2 rep. chromers here in Houston last year when i was finishing my coupe.
One that does show quality chrome wanted $2700 for all 4 bumpers, the other said I would charge you more than you can buy a brand new set for.
I went to another chromer that I use to use about 10 years ago, thought he was out of business due to health issues, but I ended up having him do them and he charged me $1700. Wasn't show quality but great for a driver car.
I agree with CorvetteMike Paragon seems to be the vendor to get new bumpers from. I heard the ones from Fargo are from overseas and don't fit very well.

New Age in Fresno refinished my bumpers and license plate holder bracket a year ago. All dings (one, a bumper jack imprint under the left front bumper) and a noticeable bruise on same bumper were repaired. Bumpers turned out nice. Turnaround time was 3 weeks. .. $925
