Very beautiful car and very professional video, looks like it was done by a Hollywood company!

We (the USA) USED to make neat cars. Sad, those days are long gone!

Even the few NEAT cars such as the Camero, Mustang and Challeger are neutered with very limited interior choices and having to buy the hippo cars as a package. Gone are the days of buying a base model stripped car with a big engine.

Le Mans Master
What a terrific story about an amazing man and a legendary machine from my youth.
My very first car was a '62 Impala convertible. Unfortunately it was an anemic 283 that I paid too much for and burned nearly as much oil as gas, instead of a stump pulling 409!
The really good news was that I parted with it a year later for my first Corvette ...that I still have today.
Thank you for posting it... GUSTO

Just another Corvette guy
Great video CU, thanks for the share
Yes, it might be a bummer to see an American icon in England, but it seems to be with a very appreciative and knowledgeable owner.
I think I'm good with that.

Really fun story - thanks for sharing. Love those early Impala's. My late Father-in-law had a '65 SS that was his pride and joy. What a beast to drive! Loved it.

...thanks for sharing!!! Love those X frame '61-'64 Impala's, especially 61's(born that year) & '62's. Had a neat '62 BelAir bubbletop factory Black w/Blue interior, 327 2bbl with 3spd on the tree back in the early '80's!!!

It was limited assembly line production. Not such thing as FMVSS in 1961 and if there was, I see no reason it wouldn't make the rule book.

The 409 was an RPO, not an LPO.
