WCFB carb Replacement options
I want to replace a worn out WCFB and I am looking for a later carb to install on my 58.
I am getting conflicting information from parts suppliers/internet searches and wanted to come to the forums to get some advice on a replacement carb.
My 1st preference, if possible would be to run the stock manifold with the stock air-cleaner...are there any carbs that would be a direct bolt on?
The 2nd option would be to replace the manifold and carb.
The motor is 292 with fuelie solid lifter cam...500 to 600cfm on the carb.
I know many of us have had similar questions and found solutions so any advice is appreciated.
Best, Ben
I know of no direct bolt on to replace what you have that will work with your intake and air cleaner. Meaning you are headed down a rabbit hole of spending money for a solution that’s not as good as what you now have.

I found out that the bores on the wcfb are shot and I had been running the carb putting off a repair on the doghouse for the original F.I.
You were right 600.00 to 900.00 was the going rate for retro-fit from Summit, Corvette Central and Ecklers etc.
I didn't want to spend money on a WCFB core thus the retrofit question, perhaps now is a good time to bite the bullet and put the money towards repairing the doghouse and rebuilding and installing the original F.I. instead of putting a carb back on the 58.
