i have a 62 and want to lower/level the rear end. I'll add pictures later but the rear end sits up a few inches higher than the front and to me it looks ridiculous. My car is completely stock, its not tubbed and does not have oversize rear wheels, I'd like to keep it that way but level the car out. Any good ways to do this?

Pictures of the stance or measurements from under the wheel well to the floor front and rear would also be helpful. It may be that the front is sagging. Also you might look and see if it has shackles that are longer than stock.
Pics please. Front is likely sagged. I would fix that, personally, as I don't care for slammed cars. If you want to lower the rear, you can either remove a leaf from each spring or simply use lowering blocks. Easy to do.
The rear spring eye should be above the shackle mount on the cross member in stock configuration. Longer shackles would lower the rear. Perhaps someone installed the springs with shackles down instead of up which would put the spring below the cross member and make it sit very high,

Shackles should be above the frame shackle pivot mount, not below.

I couldnt get a good pic because the car is up on the lift and it was raining so I didnt want to pull it out into the rain to get a side profile pic, but the measurements were 33.5" for the front and 35.25" in the back.
The car is definitely not going to look slammed, the front looks like its at a decent height. I found a pic on my phone from my wife driving it. You can clearly see the rear is much higher than the front.
Would these heights be the same for my '57? I don't recall seeing this info in any of the docs or manuals I have.
Thanks, Nick
The diagram was taken from the 1953-1962 Corvette Servicing Guide, also known as the ST-12, so I am assuming that the height measurements apply to all C1’s.

Duhhhh!! It's only on the first page of the first section. Can't believe I missed it.
Thanks,
Nick
