Default Electrics in a fiberglass car

Took the Hemi/Vette to the gas station and a fellow followed me in to say "no turn signals or brake lights". Ok probably a fuse. They were all good so I cleaned the fuses and the fuse block and I got the left brake lights but no turn signals front or rear nor the right brake lights. I pulled the right brake lights and cleaned the mating surface as well as cleaning and tightening the ground wire on the back, Bingo now everything works. A good ground is really important on a 54 year old fiberglass car.

A good ground is also necessary on a metal body newer car. You just can't use the body as a ground on a fiberglass car.

It's also important to use a star washer under the terminal to cut into the metal and insure a proper ground, just like GM did. I've seen a lot of older cars that have had the star washers removed from ground connections over the years.

Star washers, a great point. haven't used them for years. Will stop by Lowe's and pick some up.
