I don't know that the type of steering unit has much to do with alignment specs. With radial tires most people want a little negative camber, 1/2 to 1 degree. Another advantage is it gives a bit more clearance to your fender lips with wider than standard tires.
This subject has been discussed numerous times... suggest you do a search to find alignment specs - both "touring" and "sport" along with suggestions on how to deal with alignment shops, which is usually a problem. You need to do your homework and get the shop to agree in advance to the written specs you present them, and get the before and after printouts. If you don't know the current rear alignment specs, suggest you have that checked and adjusted as required along with the front.l Few shops will have the correct shims, both front an rear, so you will need to bring a collection if you want the job done right.
It's a good deal of work for the owner, but once alignment is properly set and suspension components are in good shape it should last a long time as long as you don't bang it into curbs of have an accident.
The chances of getting 3-4 degrees caster with OE suspension components is zero.

Duke
Duntov Motors was able to achieve 3.5 degrees positive caster on my stock 64 with a very slight amount of negative camber in the front.
Working on R66 alignment now. I have found to get 2.5 deg caster on the front suspension, the camber is positive. and I ran out of shim room to correct it. I am going back to less caster to obtain 0 deg. camber. I may order the offset upper A-arm shafts to get more caster if I don't like the way it drives. Alignment is a PIA without a drive on lift.

I found that in order to get more positive caster I needed to have more negative camber.
I was able to get 3-3/4 degrees caster with 1/2 degree negative camber on my '65.
