I'm changing out my right front fender on my 64 roadster and need to remove the chrome strip on the windshield. However its very snug and I'm not sure of the best way to remove it. What is the secret to this task?
Thanks in advance.
There is a special trim removal tool that many good auto parts stores sell. Shouldn't run you more than $15 or so. If you want to know what they call it, call a windshield replacment shop and tell them what you have and what you want.

I wanted to reseal my windshield to the body and asked my local glass shop to pull the trim for me. They pulled it, resealed the windhield and put the trim back for free. The last time I had it done, the glass shop in the next town charged me $20. Glass shop sealant and cleanup solvent is better than anything you can get at an auto parts store.
...GaryS is correct...also try this - previous owners may have just pushed caulk back there to try and seal leaks (totally ineffective) so you need to pull the trim up carefully...
......use the tool to JUST lift the trim and push wooden cedar shakes along the long axis of the trim, tap each one in gently, add shakes as required and at one point, it will scare hell out of you by popping straight up and heading directly for any freshly painted exterior surface so cover all the surrounding body parts with covers...works every time and any resultant kinks are minor
