Default 9 leaf rear spring source

Hi, has anyone been able to find a correct 9 leaf spring that retains the stock ride height, I have been reading posts on the forum about car sitting 2-3" too high after replacing the spring. Looks like Zip sells a reproduction spring that looks correct . Any experience with this would be great
thank Bob

Eaton is the go-to source for most of us. I replaced the springs on my 67 years ago with Eaton units and had no ride-height problems.

A few have reused most of the original 2-9 leaves and replaced only the bottom main leaf. This is another option if the Eaton replacement does not provide the correct height for your car.

Not certain if Eaton will sell only the main leaf, but it does provide additional flexibility in getting proper ride height.

Maybe buy a good used spring and then rebuild it yourself with some zinc paint and new liners and new end cups. Easy to do.

They do, but I believe a bit different than originals. Years ago, I purchased and tested 3 sets of liners from various sources and liked the Quanta ones best. They are easy to changeout if spring is still not installed.

I bought and tested:

1. Quanta
2. DR REBUILD
3. GM service replacements (old stock.......very hard to locate, even years ago)

That's what I did, got a good used original spring for 200 and rebuilt it myself and I have correct ride height.
