I just replaced my front rotors and wheel bearings. While I was at it I removed the rotor dust shields and painted them. The right front dust shield appeared to be bent at the angled brackets that the two bottom bolts go through I straightened the brackets, installed the hub and rotor, however when I rotated the rotor it contacted the dust shield to the point where it would not turn at all. I could not bend or adjust it to keep it from rubbing. I ordered a new one from Corvette America and it does the same thing. Has anyone run into this problem before. Im stumped at this point. This is on a 1965 with disk brakes.

The dust shield is hitting against the brake caliper bracket on the front side and hitting against the tie rod end bracket on the back side. When I tightened the bolts it was bending the shield. The shield on the driver side is installed the same way but there is ample clearance all around. This is a brand new dust shield and its no other way it can be installed and yes the original gasket was never removed.
Can anyone share some pictures of '65 right front rotor and dust shield clearances on the car. There should be adequate clearance from afore mentioned contact points to prevent bending of the dust shield when the three installation bolts are tightened. Please
A photo or two of your interference/contact points would help. Perhaps the "tie rod end bracket" you describe is the steering knuckle arm? If so, maybe it's articulated incorrectly upon reassembly. Photos below. Should have a good 3/8-1/2" clearance all around, all symmetric.

Don't tell people "problem solved". Tell everybody what the problem was, and how you solved it !!! Maybe someone else has the same problem, and can't figure out what it is. How would you like it if Vark said, " I have pictures of what it should look like, but I won't post them". That's exactly what you did !!! This is a group to share information----Not to solve a problem and keep it to yourself.
Okay , okay, I was just to embarrassed to admit my stupidity. The skinny of it is that I had the bottom hole of the caliper bracket installed against the spindle instead of the steering Knuckle arm against the spindle and the caliper bracket against the steering Knuckle arm as it should have been. I looked at the driver side that I had just installed correctly a bunch of times but just overlooked the position of the caliper bracket. When I looked at the posted pictures I saw immediately that my caliper bracket was incorrectly installed and that was causing the dust shield to be misaligned. Thanks to all who posted responses and my apologies for failing to post the problem solution due to my embarrassment.
