It was about 44* and overcast but the ole 57 looked lonely so I
took a couple trips. First was a trip to get salt, then a 50-60 mile round trip to pick up my wheels at the blaster then lunch and to the (cheap)Beer store.

Excellent. That's how I use my '61.....running errands, etc. Your car has a killer look, love the color and the wheels. The only thing I would do is paint the steering wheel black and throw away the shredded wheel cover!
The wheel is the original Venetian red color from 57 and the leather wrap has been on for over 30 years, I just can’t make myself do away with it! I know it would look better if I did.

I get it! It's like Linus's blanket on Peanuts. Tattered and worn out, but priceless! I didn't know the back story, but I agree with you. It really stands out though, in an otherwise clean environment. Easily, easily fixed though, with the simple conversion back to an all red interior!

The problem with this car is that there is more sentimental value than cash value! That interior was done in the late 60’s then stored in the attic for almost twenty years. It’s been in use since the mid 80’s. Red guts would look great in a black car but.....
Now the drive train has NO sentimental value! In some ways it sucks having the car you grew up with. Dad did say to do what I want with/to it!
