Thanks R66, my explanation maybe wasn't complete, but know enough that if oil was dumping out on the ground, I'd be doing something else to correct the problem. My concern is there have been posts on even the correct PVC valve to use, let alone if it is working or stuck. Some haven't even read what I posted and go off on their correct way to do things. Have been running this way for 3 summer's now. The car runs fine, guess I was just asking if this was a back ward way to get rid of internal pressure. Think we can all learn something every day. The person with the 57 added a good input, but then assumed he had a tomato can and he would be sucking oil back into the carb, but he said he drove all day and had no problems. I'm not trying to be critical, I appreciate the advice from this site, I don't always care to be totally correct, just to get an answer if what I am doing is ok. I have said more than I should have, hope I won't be banned from the website. Thanks again R66.

It's seems too many posts wind up being antagonistic.

I have no insight on this specific application but until 10-15 years ago diesels just ran a breather tube straight to the ground and they do fine.
But it seems to me that pulling a vacuum on the crankcase is a better option. If you don’t want oil going in the intake, you can use a catch can.
