NONE of my non-mechanic friends believe in points, and prefer to screw around with their fiddly electronic distributors that always seem to be on the fritz. To the OP: I would leave your Pertronix in place if it's working, and when it dies, I would re-install points. If you're bored and simply looking for something to 'fix', I recommend detailing the car or engine compartment.
If you look around, I suspect you'll see damn few cars running around on the streets with points ignition systems. Modern electronics are far more durable than points, and pretty much pay for themselves in increased plug life.

As I mentioned earlier, my electronic system has been rock solid reliable for decades, and my engine never skips a beat on track day sessions. I suspect my electronic system gets more of a workout each year than 99% of Corvettes running points.

It's your car, stick with points if you wish. But your broad-brush opinion of electronic systems isn't accurate.

Agreed. I have to say every car manufacturer on the planet gave up points operated ignition for electronic controlled ignition because of better performance and reliability both. To have a favoritism or partiality for a points system is up to the individual. But to make claims of greater reliability is just false and propaganda. Oh and and to claim your peers claim that too is a cult of propagandists perpetuating myth.
Not looking to start a fight but trying to show the truth here and actually help someone.
