lower windshield frame help
has anyone replaced the steel channel on a C1 Windshield frame? I see they are available in the aftermarket, but I'm not sure if the stainless trim can be removed without damaging it and then re attach to the new steel channel. Looking for any insight by anyone that has done this?

You must remove the entire windshield frame, and disassemble it. The stainless is just pushed on the edge of the channel, and then pressed on to the lower glass (which has the rubber installed). I think that the ST 12 has this pretty well detailed. You might also do a search on this forum for C1 windshield assembly. There have been several good write ups over the past years.
