Need help
thks a lot for your answer and for the 3 links.
actually i only paid a small deposit in an web auction. I won the auction and i am wondering if i go at the end.
I was sure it was a BB due to several cloues, but i am understanding after reading every coments that everything can be transformed in a previous restoration.
I would see the car next week but i won t be able to disassemble the car or the engine, that s why i hoped someone has an access to the register with the info.
Thks
Aurel
If you want a Corvette that is a fun driver and not worried about originality then this could be your baby. The sidepipes are not original GM as is the rear fiberglass spring and transmission. Have you inspected this car? I would seriously recommend you inspect and drive this car. It will be the only way you will know if you like it for what it is.
As an aside, I purchased a 65 Corvette ( my current car ) five years ago. It had a poor running 427 from a 1968 Impala SS 427 ( verified by the engine stamp pad ). It also had a Richmond 6 spd transmission and some nice body/paint work. Yes it needed TLC but I was up for the adventure. All my body information was correct and the data plates were attached from factory. This car gives me much enjoyment from driving it and working on it.
So, the next move is up to you. I strongly urge an inspection ( by you) and a test drive. Just remember many of these cars lost their original engines and or transmissions long ago. Ths price seems to take that into account. Let us know how it goes. Best of luck with your endeavor. - Fred
