Hello everyone, just took delivery of my first Corvette and its a beautiful c2 red convertible.
First thing I started to check is adding a cup holder.
Looking for input.
Ran across this travel buddy. Wonder if anybody is using it. pros and cons. Is it a reach to get to it from drivers?

Next option I saw was a center console with builtin holders.
Works great, but too expensive. I could only find black so I sprayed mine to match the interior. I bought it several years ago and transfer to each new C2.
That travel buddy didn't work worth a crap in my 63....
I wound up going with the terribly over-priced center console holder, but you just buy it once and it has a flip up lid with storage for small items... You can ****** it out in 2 seconds for shows or judging.
Its a very functional arm rest...
It also keeps the 'ole lady from elbowing me when I cuss out some jackass while driving.

I have one of those double side holders. Yes, a little pricey, as the 'Corvette Tax' is alive and well. But its a great addition, for water bottles, sunglasses, etc. But a little crowded for a passenger.

I like this double one, I have the single one as above painted to match with a second one in the rear (coupe) held in place with the compartment board.
If you are traveling alone, you can use a tennis shoe on the passenger floor area.
It will hold a cup of coffee or soda can pretty well when placed inside the shoe.
It has served us well and more important protected the original console piece under it. Replacement cost for just the piece under it is $1000. The cup holder we have has the manufacturer ID on it so that is very visible. I covered it up with dash plaques.

I also have one like the one above. It has two different size holders. The largest one holds a coke can in a coozy perfectly. The smaller one is great for water bottles and cans without coozies. It also has a little tray where you can something small.
I tried the clear ones shown, they aren't deep enough to stop the cups from tipping over.
No kidding...only good for holding change and a garage door opener...
BUT they are great for protecting the shifter console; especially the delicate 63 consoles.
You folks have it all wrong. My cup holder does not spill or tip over. Plus, it won't scratch the upholstery. Works great when cutting the grass on the lawn using the rider on those hot 90+ hot summer days.
