I am getting ready to put a new water pump onto my 283. Reading the forums, everyone mentions clocking the mount and pump to avoid future torque stress, but I could not find any reference on how to do it.
Can you explain or send me the link? I am sorry, I really did research but could not find.
I wouldn't worry about it, if you have a stock motor, it is simply "twisting" the motor mount plate in the opposite direction of engine Tq during bolt tightening to take up the few thousandths of slop on the MM plate holes.
Just torque the bolts properly, and retorque after running the car to full up.
