In answer to the original question. I think this depends on the area that you live in. We live in the California foothills and don't really give a damn what a still wet behind the ears state official orders.
He should be spending more of his time on the lack of toilet paper in our markets. This topic seems like it would be more up his area of expertise ! [ or up his ally] We will be taking our coupe for a mental health run tomorrow, with or without governor Newsom's blessing.

Every elected official I've heard talk says its all about voluntary compliance. Besides, there are exceptions to go get food and other essentials (e.g., liquor in NY). So for all they know you are on a food run.
Not entirely true. Pritzger in Illinois said an officer could issue a reckless conduct misdemeanor citation if he felt it was necessary. I’ve heard that elsewhere too. But they really don’t want to do that; they prefer voluntary compliance. Still, there will always be those who need to make a fuss because that’s how people are. Besides, a single person in a car isn’t the kind of person clearly ignoring the order. People gathering like the idiots in the weddings in NJ are who draw attention.
I've been seeing a bunch of classics driving around these past few days that I can't say I remember seeing before. Not that the roads here are otherwise overly crowded, but lately, with the reduced traffic, cruising the roads during the week has become more enjoyable.

I wrenched all weekend, on the Corvette & the Bronco, then Took the Bronco on a nice local 10 mile shakedown cruise. The biggest traffic jam was caused by ducks.

Took my Grand Sport replica out to pick up burgers and a little cruse Saturday. It was wonderful not worrying about being clouted by some idiot on the road....
Not sure if a joy ride is legal today, but I can't see how it could cause the virus to spread....
Been out in the split window several times and the smiles and distractions it creates in other drivers takes their mind off the current mess. Its almost a civic duty..
I did a complete tune up on the 65 yesterday am. Took the 65 out on I79 S past Carnegie to South Point.... no one on the Expressway.......Took the Coupe to 90...purred like a kitten.....Got off South Point and headed back to the house...... Talk about therapy for being in the house for 5 straight days!!!!! In the garage, a Cigar and an IPA...........What can I say!!!!
what police,an is going to pull you over and take a chance he will get the chinese virus.
i travel up to the nearby mountains and enjoy driving my corvette all the time.
obviously if you stop for a bit of take out or other activity during your travels near other people just wear a mask so you dont freak out the other people.
masks have little value but it makes the scaredy cats feel safer which it does practically nothing..
im in the **** states of NY and NJ as well as ct...
roads are pretty empty so there is little traffic which is always fun.
