With the present Pandemic, and most all car shows being postponed or cancelled, are we allowed to take our classic Corvettes out for a ride? Was wondering what you all think?...........

You will be hauled over by authorities and given a citation for: "Refusing To Panic Like Everybody Else"
Punishment ranges up to 8 weeks of incarceration in your own home without toilet paper.....to mandatory sale of your stock portfolio at the market bottom so you can't catch the rebound.
..
I would think that would be a question for the officials in whatever state you're in and whatever rules have been placed for "lockdown". May be different for your state or locality.
in Germany all restaurants, hotels, hairdressers, fitness studios and shops are closed from today 00.00 o'clock except post office, bank and grocery stores In addition, public and private parties are forbidden and no more than 3 people, except family members, may stand together. There must always be a distance of 2 meters between people.
In Italy there is a total ban on going out for everyone except for grocery shopping and going to work.

Every elected official I've heard talk says its all about voluntary compliance. Besides, there are exceptions to go get food and other essentials (e.g., liquor in NY). So for all they know you are on a food run.
We are definitely in a rural area, actually live IN the woods. Although we put IL 'Extended Antique' plates (legal from April thru Nov for all driving) on R66 and the 68RS, we are going on a country cruise April 1 unless weather delays it. We may be bombarded by a trillion trillion corona viruses streaming out of the air and smashing the windshield, but that's a chance we will have to take amid the shortage of 'butt wipe' and the search for it. Country boys still know the 3 red and a white rule substituting corn cobs. Didn't have corn cobs across the pond 50 years ago or I could have sold them all. Primary 'butt wipe' in Nam was 'Dear John Letters', but now it seems the younger crowd text on their phone and I can't figure out how to wipe with one.

This is my plan exactly! However, car is still in hibernation so won't be an issue until about 6 weeks from now. Hopefully things will be much improved by then.

Just tell the cop some Internet "expert" on Youtube just said, everybody needs to get outdoors and ride around as fresh air cures the virus... Its as valid as all the other crap I'm hearing of late.....
Here in the Peoples Republic of California we have been on the stay home routine for about four days now. At first I decided that it would be a good opportunity to catch up on routine maintenance on my cars and other toys. Four days in and every car, motorcycle, and lawnmower has had an oil change and everything else That I could think of. With a minimum of two more weeks to go, I am officially going nuts. I understand why we are doing this and I support what they are asking us to do. In reading the rules, it seems that they just want us to avoid contact with each other. They are encouraging everyone to still go outside and get some exercise as long as we stay six feet apart. We went for a walk on the beach yesterday and it was really crowded with way more people than usual. There were some folks that have lived here for years and never been to the beach. Maintaining six foot spacing was a full time job. I decided that a joy ride in an old car would be much safer as long as I did not stop and socialize with anyone. Today, the plan was to take each car for a drive down Hwy 1 to Big Sur and back. As luck would have it, the weather turned bad and it is raining on my parade. That too will pass. I need just need to find more broken stuff around the house to keep me busy. Funny how I miss the "Honey Do" list when everything is done.
Took the 62 for 150 mile run yesterday, temps. in the 80's today in the 50's. Drove around some small lakes, seen a lot of people fishing. May do a little fishing next week myself, fresh air, stay away from people and don't have to go to the store to buy dinner.
No new regulations here in Texas regarding driving...of any type. I'm going out in about an hour and take a nice 40 mile ride. Me, my car and no virus allowed. Not going to be around anybody. Should do my attitude some good.
