Andy, your best bet is to work back from where YOU bought the car, and see what THEY can tell you (take careful notes!). See when THEY bought it, where, what do they remember about the seller? Also look under the seats or carpet for old receipts etc that might give a clue.

Also, if you have the paperwork from when the car was sold new, you should have the original owner's info. Do a little detective work, see if you can find a relative or maybe even the owner himself/herself. Don't put it off. as people pass away or get older, the resource vanishes.

I would suggest starting a new thread, saying "looking for previous owners of ___ (VIN)", that way it will be more apt to pop up if somebody Googles it. Provide detail, and the pic you posted. A thread of its own is better than buried in this one.

Lastly, I find it ironic that there are searches going in both directions - people wondering what happened to the car they or their father had in 1967 or whatever, and people who own a car today and wonder who owned it back then. Once in a while, somebody gets lucky and makes the connection. There is a member on here, can't recall details, but they have a white '61 IIRC and found.....either info, or the original owner themself, I can't recall. But it worked out with a happy ending in that case. Good luck, the search can be fun!

I am sorry, I thought you had checked the site already and were asking about if the car did not show up on it.

thanks so much, I got the car through family so I’m familiar with it since 2007. I will start a new thread as you suggested. Also, I just registered the car on c2 database so it should show up now.

Thanks again for all the help.
