In the 45 years I've owned my car, I've wanted to put a front spoiler on it for the last 30 of those years. Well . . . in celebration of National Corvette Day . . . today was the day!!! As a few before me have done, I started with the 69 Camaro front spoiler, cut 3 inches out of the middle, glued it back together with JB Weld "plastic bonder". I reinforced the back with glued in strips of abs to give it some strength and sprayed it with some Rust-oleum Peel Coat "Rugged Coat" which is intended for Jeep fenders . . . it;s a cool "rubbery" coating that should last for years. I think it turned out OK!!!
And - I do have a few photos. I cut 1.5 inches to each side of the center line - and then used that piece that was cut out as a backer to glue it back together. Used some "plastic bonder" to fill in the seam and sanded it smooth - great stuff to work with! I bought a 1/8 inch thick piece of abs plastic (Amazon) and then cut it into 3/4 inch strips to glue to the back to reinforce the spoiler. One photo below shows the center piece bonded in and just 2 of the many strips. I mounted it to my car with SS 1 inch acorn head bolts, small SS fender washers and SS nylon nuts! The toughest part was getting up the nerve to drill the holes to mount it!!!

Nice job!
Have you noticed any difference in high speed handling?

It looks Great Tom! In the 43 years I've owned my car, I've had the same thought and probably will follow through in the near future. I suppose you also considered the C2 spoiler available from Ecklers and others and I'd like to know how you made your choice.
I’ve also been looking at spoilers. It is hard to get the correct exposure when your car is white. I lightened it up a little bit and I think it looks great. Well done!
I keep going back and looking at your original shots, and it occurred to me that at firs its very noticeable and than it seems to blend in as if was always there, again nicely done.

Thanks in advance.
Thanks for the positive feedback! I considered the Ecklers front spoiler - I like it also . . . but, @ $190 (before cutting to fit the front bumpers on my car), just wasn't sure I wanted to experiment. I probably have less than $100 in mine . . . plus, I like to "make stuff"! Also - my buddy Tom (Sky65) has the same spoiler on his car - although he never had to cut the slots for the bumpers!
It's been so long since I looked at Ecklers that I didn't realize the price has risen to that. Like Sky65, I wouldn't have to modify either one for bumpers and since Ecklers is just a short drive away from me I'm leaning in that direction.
