Sorry for any repeat trying to find correct place to post this. Correct C1 VIN?
Hi all. New here and trying to get some info. Close to buying the dream car! Got this pic of the VIN for the 62 Vette. Numbers are off to the left of the CHEVROLET. Is that correct? Other 62s I’ve seen the numbers are centered. Maybe because this one was so early #156? Thanks for any help!
Not sure of the centering aspect of the tag but the tags appears to be attached with a type of. rivet . The tag was spot welded to the column at the factory.
Thank you Jack. Yeah I found a few photos of 61 Vette VINs that were off to the left. Now who knows if those were correct but that is why I was hoping this 62 VIN is original.
Looks good to me. That's a spot weld and to my knowledge there is no set position for the VIN to start and stop. I've seen more than a few that start in the same location as yours.
