I am thinking his ballpark is what you would spend regardless of where you sent it. If he is somewhat local you can stare him in the face if you have an issue. Make sure he knows you just want it to work correctly. I am old school and would stay with the original unit which is very dependable if taken care of of. Have your repair guy tell what you need to do overtime to keep in good operating condition. Keep it clean and not over lube from the cable side.
