Bought it in 78 and drove it in college for a couple of years. The car was a beater, rode hard and put up wet. I wish that I knew now what I didn't know then, because when I got the bright idea to strip the paint and restore the car in the early 80's this was the surprise that I found. There was newspaper and chicken wire holding up the bondo and bubba glass repairs.
Life, career, kids, etc got in the way, and the car became a family joke as I dragged it in various states of repair from garage to garage every time we moved over the years. Like many of you guys I never gave up the dream of putting it back together again some day. One of the few good ideas that I had was to purchase all of the GM repair panels back in the early 80's. Eventually, after the kids were out of school and I was able to claim more weekends for my long traveled project, I was able to get the body back together and start the long haul back to life.
Hauling the body back from plastic media blasting early 2014 (I did have the car painted at one time many years ago, but there were too many issues, so off it came)
And where it is today after about 5 years of weekends. Project creep is alive and well as you can see, but it's finally back together and a hoot to drive. I can't believe that I didn't cave at one time or another and sell it along the way, but since the value was so reduced by being a pile of parts that probably stopped me. Glad I held onto it, and even happier that I stuck with it to completion. Thanks for looking.

And what's the story on how it was found? Parked by a cesspool, what lowlife would ever do that?

What it looked like when i bought it in 1974
When i was going to drag race it....never finished...my kids put the body back on the frame
Put it back to period correct, chrome wiper grilles are painted now...
Sold it March 18, 2021
On the Truck to Summit, New Jersey
