My Vette has needed 4 front ends due to wrecks. Below are 2 photos of the 1977 wreck. They were taken at night in not the best of conditions. The last photo was taken at the World of Wheels show 2 weeks ago.

When Dad bought from a used car lot it Gary Indiana in 1962 for $1995

during one of many repaints

this picture was taken in Lily Ky while the family was moving from Gary to Fort Meyers Beach Fla. Dad, Mom and my older brother as an infant plus a dog rode in the car with all their possessions in the trailer

the pile on the left is the same 57 as the other pics, the race car 57 is lost to history.

here's the first pic I've seen with me and the car. I'm the little guy in front.

This is the most recent re-do(it's never been and never will be restored) I'd had possession for about two years at this point

Dad always wanted a nice paint job, this is the best I could do for the ole 57. It's keeping pretty good company is this pic.

So the slant six car was the donor for your 413 build?

Yes. After paying $7,500 for it sight unseen off a lot in Minnesota when it showed up I didn't know what else to do with it.
