My Dad recently passed away and my Mom came across his original contract to purchase his ‘57 Corvette. He sold it in the early ‘70s. The VIN is E57S-105725. I’ve tried searching CarFAX and other VIN search services, but they don’t recognize the number because it doesn’t have 17 digits. Was really interested to see if I could track it down. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Does not show in the NMVTIS either. Might be in a museum, might be in a barn, might be a track-only race car, might have been wrecked years ago.
Sorry, but don't give up. Do you have any idea who he sold it to, or what location? What color was it back then (realizing it may have been repainted many times over)
One other suggestion - the C-1 registry is not limited to the present owner. Create an entry for the car giving what info you do have. Maybe somebody down the road will be looking for info on it and you will have filled in the beginning of the trail.
