Guy in my neighborhood has a 66 Chevelle SS 396 like this. Mostly original, with 4 speed.
I have watched it sink into the ground for the last 30 years.
Really Sad

I know of a 1969 Dodge Charger R/T sitting. Been outside under a tarp since 1996, maybe longer. He's got it, I don't, at least that's what he last told me. What a looser.

That mentality reflects glory of the past and unrealistic future. Meanwhile a treasured non replaceable piece of history fades away.

In 1972 I visited my uncle in Los Angeles. We were enjoying a few beers when he showed me his 1967 912 Porsche. The engine was apart and had been for a few years. Fast forward almost fifty years, and the car is still in the garage untouched. I asked him about buying it and he said he is going to restore it. He is almost 90. I think not. Jerry

A 66 chevelle super sport convertible they bought new, was parked because of a bad fly wheel in 1970, and every year for 35 years I knocked on their door to try to buy the car. Finally they gave in and I bought it. I did a frame off restoration on it. I also bought a 427 66 coupe that sat with a sign on it not for sale and finally got that one also. And not far from me there was a 59 Corvette and a 57 Chevy nomad that sat in the driveway so long that it melted into the blacktop up to the doors and they still won’t sell them!

That '66 GTO looks like it still has a very straight body, but it couldn't possibly have any floorpans left. Probably has holes rusted through the dashboard and trunk floor, too. Damned shame.

Hope I don’t end up being that type of guy 😔, but I’m having a hard time getting my cars in working order. Scary.
I know of an Alpine A110 (only 800 made in mxn) under a tarp in town, the owners dad was kind enough to show me the car, when he lifted the tarp I could see the remains of an oppossum in the engine bay, the car is slowly disappearing. it’s his sons car (who moved away years ago and lives abroad in the us now) he says someday when his son comes back they will fix it. I go every now and then and ask if he’s changed his mind.
Also Know of a 1954 Corvette, I bought some property from this guy years ago and he showed me the car, partially disassembled, wasn’t interested in selling, car is still there as it was.
