Default Current Market values

Over the past year the market has gone mad. What's the value What's eveyone's opinion on the value of older restored BB driver and a older restored SB driver? It seems, a good driver is around $70k for Small Block and $100k for big block, if it has some paper work or been judged, maybe another 20% premium? Is that far to say or am I way off of the values.

Wait a few months when inflation really kicks in. The price of fast food is already up about 40% at Hardies where my wife gets lunch. Groceries are way up too, but maybe that is just around here.
Trillions of dollars printed and put into the system make millions worth less. Just my guess.

I have seen many very nice driver SBs in the low $50ks lately. I think you are way high. I just bought a super nice NOM driver ‘64 for less than $40k.

Drivers are one thing--well-optioned cars that are in outstanding condition are quite another .....

I hear what you saying but I haven't seen any restored drivers for that cheap. I should clarify, been restored, cleaned up frame, all the components been updated.

You numbers seem really high. Go through the completed auctions on BAT. There are NICE small block cars that sold in the 50s. When I say "nice" I mean cars that have been restored in the past, but they're not show cars and they're getting driven.

Some good data to have while looking. Clearly prices have escalated lately, I don't think I'm that far off. A few Big Block cars have sold around that range along with some really nice small blocks. The one Big Block sold for 71k looked pretty good but not sure until you see it A recent small block went unsold for 65k that was driver. Not seeing recently SB for 50 that been restored at some point.

There are at least a dozen on that page that sold in the 50s or less. If you're not seeing them I don't know what you're looking at. They're not all restored cars, but there's plenty of nice, clean drivers.

There are a few right here, are you not seeing this on that page?

low balling is a fantasy. But finding a fair price as a real buyer is realistic. Because there are just so many know it all and bs talkers out there. If you want one go buy one.

I can make a guess about the low values and variation. The less expensive cars need paint. It's that simple. Close inspection (not photos) will show cracks all over the place, applied too thick, too many times. This includes former restorations. This is a +$10 000, issue. We live with cracks and thick paint on ~ $48 k cars, but not at the $70 k level. Lots of older guys want it now, they want it as close to perfect as possible, and close to perfect means bigger money in a rational market. There are always and forever items that fall throught the cracks, but one robin doesn't make a spring.

Myself and many others will disagree with this. My original car except for paint (repainted original color in the 80s) has some lacquer cracks in the paint but do not photograph. People in person casually look at the car and ask if I restored it. The car’s paint will have to deteriorate much worse before I will ever consider painting it. IF I were to consider selling it today (no it is not for sale) I would not consider less than $75k for it and I don’t think it would be for sale long.
