Want to thank those who recommended it after my complaint about the worthless C1 wipers. Got caught in a monsoon coming home from a show again but this time I could see better than with the wipers on. I didn't need to slow down when all others around me were. Actually worked better with speed.
I've used Rain-X for at least the past 25 years, starting with my motorcycle helmet face shield. It works amazingly well. In a car, you don't even need wipers to see easily.
Correct, Rain-X works fine at speed, and with heavy rain. It does not do well with mist - get behind a semi on the Interstate, and Rain-X does not help much if any. Ditto very light drizzle at in-town driving. But I would not be without it.
I agree it helps bead up water but am I the only one not happy with its cleaning ability? I find it does not clean well and leaves streaks so I clean with just about any other glass cleaner and then spray the RainX on.

A little off topic, but those who are old enough to have driven cars with vacuum wipers, you go to pass a truck on a two lane road in the rain, you accelerate, vacuum goes down, wipers slow down or stop when needed the most. You are basically blind for much of the maneuver, but somehow we survived. I think the next mod to my C2 will be Detroit Speed wipers.

You just HAD to remind me. I had a '64 Rambler and '70 AMC Concord with vacuum wipers. Both cars a general POS.

The above is true HOWEVER, midyears have electric wipers not vacuum.

Yeah, I remember. I had a '48 Hudson with vacuum wipers.
The Rain-X original stuff seems to work fine, yes after it dries you do need some elbow grease to wipe it all down and get rid of the haze. The 2-in-1 stuff in my experience is disappointing, it didn't seem to perform either task well for me.

I know they have electric wipers, but they aren't the best. I was in the rain yesterday and constantly having to turn them on and off because of the road conditions, a modern wiper delay feature would be nice.
