brake caliper question
cleaning up the brake calipers on my 66 project and was wondering if anyone could tell by the gold color pistons used if they are s/steel sleeved or something else
they are not delco casting . no name but a few numbers on them . any info would be great

The gold colored piston only indicates it's new with anodizing on it. You'd have to disassemble the caliper to see if the bore is sleeved.

All the pistons I've seen over the last 40 years have been aluminum. I don't recall the pistons being yellow until the last 10 or 15 years. I suspect the pistons are only made by one or two manufacturers, thus the common appearance amongst calipers of all brands and rebuilders.
