Default Seat base sizing.

Hi C1 lovers
Seat base sizes! I am repairing my 59 Vette, after pulling out my seats to repair runners and securing brackets, which seemed to be drilled and bolted in different spots on the rear mount plate. I ordered all new componants and fitted to seats, but seat brackets didn't match the rear mount plate. Would anyone know if seat widths changed, re mounting through 58, 59, 60, 61, 62. Not sure what direction I should take to fix. I have already affixed retaining nut pieces for rear mount plate, under the Vette.
Help greatly appreciated.

The '61 and '62 seats slid into some brackets attached to the floor at the rear. The fronts bolt down. I don't think the seat track width changed at all from '58-'62, but that is from memory.

Something doesn't look right on the rear. The black long bracket bolts to the rear floor with open slot receivers to the top, and the male part on the rear of the seat frame slides into it. Are you sure you don't have the rear silver brackets on backward? The back of the silver bracket doesn't have bolt holes that go to the rear. take that rear black hold down off so we can see what your rear bracket looks like.

this is what the bottom should look like with the slides to the rear

Thats what my '61 looks like (except not as pretty). I can't say that earlier years look/mount like that.

Doug, you are right.... I found an earlier seat frame thread and quoted it. It is about two above this thread called 59 seat frames.

Based on the pic above, the OP may have the tracks reversed left/right.
I would guess the truncated front bracket on one side is because of the drive tunnel.

Doug , A few months ago I was watching a guy build some seats on a C1 that looked like those frames, and it appeared that he was building them IN THE CAR. I thought it looked really odd doing it that way, but what do I know?

The OP has seat tracks like those in my '60. They do indeed mount to the floor with bolts to nut plates in the front and with bolts and a nut on that bracket across the rear. That bracket is bolted to the floor.

It appears clear from the OP's photo that the seat is too narrow for the 58-60 attaching bracket at the rear. Are these perhaps 61-62 seats/frames? I have no experience with those so maybe someone else can post a pic of a 61-62 seat frame.

Hope this helps a bit.

Thank you everyone for your help, so the general consensus is that my seat is not a 59 Vette seat, but maybe a 61 62 seat, I just ordered all the parts for a 59 seat and these are what I recieved and fitted. The Black bar I removed to show the bolt holes don't match, and yes I have fitted the wrong tracks on the wrong seat, my bad.🤔

I'll bet that a previous owner put the 61-62 seat bottom on because they are wider. That was common back in the day... good luck

Thanks Vettsplit 63, I think I might need it, my floor might look like swiss cheese when finished. Then I need to decide what new seat covers I purchase?
Thanks again.
