I plan to add power steering to my 67 L75 roadster and I want to use an original style power steering unit. (I know that there are aftermarket kits and conversions that are superior to the OEM power steering, but since the rest of the car is true stock I want to keep the car as close to how it "could have come" from the factory.)
I have the ram setup and valve, plus the correct steering box, but I am going to need to source a pump and the brackets. Can anyone tell me if the pumps and brackets were unique to the Corvette or if they used the same parts on other small block equipped cars from the 60's?
We need clarification! First, I don't know of other applications, there could be. Second, No L-75 in '67. that designation was used in previous years when the base motor was a 250HP and the L-75 was the first optional one on the list at 300HP. So, what engine is in your car? Assuming it is a 327/300HP, the PS brackets are sold in kit form along with the correct pump from most vendors. You will also need to get the correct pulley for the crank. Dennis
You should not have to change the steering box all is you need to do is change the Pitman arm off the steering box. The power steering installation is pretty simple.
