1956 engine suffix code cf
Off topic a bit but I have a 56 Chevy35000 restored truck & cant see the casting # pad is stamped F0528CF. Is that a code for 265 or 283? looked on line & cant find a CF code.Heads do NOT have staggered valve cover holes. THANKS KEN

This motor has front motor mounts. Thought only 55,56 &57 had front mounts. Cant see the casting # because they set the cab over the back part of the engine. I want to put 56 2-4 intake & valve covers on it.

Most SBCs until sometime toward the end of production had the drilled/tapped bosses for front mounts. Those threaded holes were often used for accessory mounting after they were no longer needed for engine support.
