Default 64 Corvette

I have a 64 Corvette that had a vibration in the left rear after 55 mph. I installed new Diamond Back tires, computer balance and new Garbrlal Ultra Shocks with no change.
All U Joints seam solid and nothing is loose that i can find.
Any Ideas would be appreciated
Mike

You might, also, check your trailing arm shims...make sure they're in place.

They are making no noise but that sounds like a good idea although i have never a wheel bearing go out without noise.

Thank you. They seem to have all the shims. I was thinking trailing arm but with new shocks it don't think its would be them.

Did the car have the vibration when you bought it, or it WAS ok and then started having the problem? If it used to be OK, did you change anything or have anything else going on about the time you first noticed it? Did it come on gradually, and get more intense over time, or nothing one day and it's there the next?

You need to make sure you had a Road Force Balance done with the new tires.. Could be as simple as that.

Rather than just spinning the tire/wheel, road force balancers have a roller which exerts pressure on the tire as it is tested, to simulate the weight of the car in actual conditions. Not all shops have them but it's generally accepted that's a more accurate measurement than the old way.

You are right, and I have been there done that many times back when gas stations did repairs. I just figured it was easier to say "old way" than "in between way" or "not quite old way"
