Default AM/FM Radios Date Coded?

Anybody know if the AM/FM radios are date coded? I am looking for a 63 which are somewhat rare. How can I tell if a radio is correct for a 63?

Quick way to tell, all '63's had the CONELRAD markings at 640 and 1240 on the AM dial (some '64's also but later years did not).

Thanks Greg. I had never heard about CONELRAD.

63 had conelrad markings
64 the am/fm were red and green
65 and up they were black
The tuners were upgraded in 64 and again for 65 thru 67.
There was a paper tag with stuck on them with a sequence number. Somewhere around there is a table of these numbers which has corresponding significance..
Don't take this as gospel, I'm often wrong

I believe there is a Diode or at least a round nickle size object on the back towards the top and in the middle which has a stenciled date on it. Scott

Not just the tuners, the whole radio circuit board was also updated and improved in 65 and up.
