[C1] !959 splash shields

I'm a 1954 owner and just replaced mine, but yours don't seem all that different, especially when I looked up the diagram (shown at Corvette Central; https://www.corvettecentral.com/58-6...shields-571072 last picture). Even though I'm not a 1959, I'm pretty sure the process I have outlined is the same you will go through for yours. One thing you will need to get is the hardware and weather stripping for it. The weather stripping side goes against the fiberglass fender (side furthest from the frame. You will want the hardware to install. Corvette Central says the sell the hardware but it will not have the 4 hex metal screws (they gave me 4 because the later models use them, but us 53-55 only use 2, one per side) that are about 1/4" in length, Zip Corvette to get the hardware set that had ALL of the parts (link for yours, note the black metal screws included https://www.zip-corvette.com/58-60-s...mount-kit.html). Those metal screws are used on the 4 inner tabs that screw straight into the frame holes. When I installed the splash shields, they were tight and had some tension. It's best to get the bolts and screws just started but very loose as the last few you set into position will be tough. Once you get them started, torque them down working through all the sides tightening them a bit each pass, that way it will set in nicely. One note, the "clutch head" screws can be annoying as the bit that I had for them in the multi bit kit never quite sat in the head well, so, use the bit to hold the head in place and plan on tightening the nut from the rear. I really hate those things, I was barely able to get off the original ones.
The lower part you have in your post is the lower reinforcement. This does not directly attach to the splash guard. That part is what attaches the inner fender fiberglass to the firewall (this is the inner fender that one side of your splash guard will attach to). If that fiberglass is intact and the support is good, you won't need to worry about it at this point. One final note, the two holes in the splash guard (on both guards) that are to the outside, those line up with the holes at the edge of the body, the splash guard mounts on top of the ends inside.
You can see the lower reinforcement bolted to the inner fender and connected to the firewall. The two pipes to the right (covered in masking tape) are the heater core pipes.
This is the front of the splash guard, you can see it mounts in front of, not behind the fiberglass on the inner fender. Note the location of the weather stripping.
This is the hex head metal screw I mentioned earlier, the only part of the shield that has the bent tab. I only have one, but you have two per side
The two holes, picture taken from above, note how the guard rests on top of that fiberglass rail / edge
Taken from below (yes, I know it isn't pretty...) note the orientation of the screws / bolts and the guard above the edge.
