Hi all!. I picked up a replacement transmission oil cooler for my 65 (old one pretty beat up). It sounds as though there is something inside that rolls/slides back and forth. Called the vendor and they weren't too helpful saying maybe it was a piece of solder. Doesn't sound like that at all. It's a smooth sliding/rolling noise.
Question: Any of you ever buy one of these and, if so, did it make this noise? Is there some sort of one-way-valve or something inside? Air moves through it quite well in either direction.
As far as I know, there's no valving in that cooler; I wouldn't use it unless you can get the "piece" out of it - the transmission won't like it at all. If a blast of shop air won't get it out, I'd send it back.
Thanks guys! John, I had the same feeling that the trans wouldn't be too happy ingesting something that might get loose in the system. I'm going to call them today to work out an exchange.
